New Blog: Fish Farm Fuss

Look out Lucille Packard and Betty Moore. A lady named Vivian Krause has your number.

Not the real 'Betty Moore', sorry.

This blog has articled the “de-marketing” of farm-raised salmon from US Foundations before.  But, we certainly haven’t detailed it like a blog called “The Fish Farm Fuss”.

To be quite frank, the information within this new blog is disturbing – showing a completely one-sided marketing campaign compliments of a few very wealthy American Foundations which, for whatever reason, feel the need to de-market aquaculture products (mainly farmed salmon) in hopes of promoting ‘wild-caught’ salmon.

For those who don’t already know, about 90% of ‘wild-caught’ salmon sold in the US is from Alaska.  Has anyone told Betty and Lucille that about 1/2 of Alaska salmon were born in hatcheries? – that’s aquaculture.

Visit “The Fish Farm Fuss”, but beware, no matter which side of the fish weir you’re on, it’s liable to make your blood boil.

Final note; we ‘googled’ for an image of Betty Moore (from the Moore Foundation). The first image to pop up was what you see above – which obviously caught our eye – but we have no idea if it is the real ‘Betty Moore’. If it is, we may have to watch what we say from now on…
